The Maina Sunset Hotel is a 12 unit Hotel situated on the Western side of Aitutaki south of the main township of Arutunga.
The hotel has a beach bar overlooking the lagoon and transfers to the sandbars depart from the wharf in front of this beach bar. The location means we can offer fast, convenient transfers to the sand bars, and the option of transfers throughout the day.So you can get up in the morning, grab your gear and go!
Kiteboard Aitutaki runs its kite centre from these premises and is always keen on informal bbq nights in the beach bar.The hotel is in a secluded location away from the other tourist accommodation areas. From the property it is a 20 min walk to the supermarket, bank, wholesalers (for the cheapest cold beer) and post office through the lovely village of Nikaupara. Scooter hire can be arranged through our friends ar Rinos.

Although there is no swimming beach at this property, guest staying here have access to one of the best swimming and snorkeling areas in Aitutaki - the white sand bars and beaches of Maina Island - no more than 5 minutes by boat. The fresh water swmimmng pool is welcome relief on those warm Aituaki evnings.
There is an informal restaurant on site serving Tropical Island Breakfast daily, packed lunch for the sandbars, as well as sunset bbq's. The on site shop also provides beverages.
